indeed.

BE and the FIA are in F1 to make a buck end of story. road safety or whatever program they are advocating, however noble in its intent, is just a smoke screen while they bleed the sport dry.

should be no discussion anymore, if the Renault had been more reliable Max would have scored points in all 3 GP's he has started so far.

Interesting that the person starting this thread saying that max should NOT be in F1 this year has voted him as DOTR for only his 3rd grand prix.

If the person that should NOT be in f1 is the best then what about every one else.

He already lost his credibility just by opening this thread but now he's really looking like a fool after voting Max Verstappen as Driver of the Chinese Grand prix. Start already voting again Max for the Bahrein Grand prix

I don't see how someone capable of changing their mind, or at least, not being blind to a good performance because of a prejudice is a fool.

Great picture. I also remember pictures of Kevin Magnussen in the paddock when Jan was racing.

Could not agree more. The fact there is makes certain people look incredibly foolish. There are no doubts over his ability any more so really what is against is merely prejudice and lack of information.

It seems that the majority of people all for Verstappen entering F1 are major contributors in the National and International Single Seaters thread, where amongst other things, young prospects are watched and evaluated...

There are several aspects to this other than Max clearly deserving to be in F1 on talent:

There is the child exploitation issue F1 finds itself in, one which everyone who watches a race encourages.
We need to ignore that he potentially has had more training, race practice, and support than an older person entering F1 back when it was hard.
18 is a number. Which is one more than seventeen, but one less than n n n n nineteen.
Then there are the number of straws that have been clutched.

The idea that it would be an unfair act of tyranny to hold Verstappen back one year if that cap had of been imposed a year or so ago is nonsense. The kinda freakin' out of some people on here over that, is funny.

But Paradise City thinks that he is too young because he believes that the FIA thinks that it sends out the wrong message to the public.

He seems to be fighting a lonely battle.

Paradise City has only ever maintained one position on Max Verstappen and has never wavered from that position - that MV deserves to be in F1. Don't misrepresent me now.

I am a bit surprised that your position is in fact that Max should be in F1, you seem to have been saying that only people over the arbitrary age of 18 should be in F1!

I am glad that at least one other Tenther interpreted PC's postings on the mate of Max in the same way as I do; before I posted my last remarks I had to go back a few pages to make sure that I was pointing out what I considered to be a potential inconsistency. For a short while I thought that dementia had caught up with me again!

Yes and..? Nowhere did I say that Max Verstappen doesn't deserve to be in F1.

So in essence you have developed from, I don't like minors in F1 and "I'll wait and see how he goes" to Max deserves to be in F1 but should be excluded because he is not the FIA's arbitrary 18, and it sends out the wrong message to the youth and encourages boy racers on the public roads.

How is Mike's post wrong?
