Steven Richards Team Mate Announced
Paul Dumbrell confirmed as Steven Richards’ team-mate in the Castrol Perkins Racing
Konica V8 Supercar Series Champion Paul Dumbrell has been confirmed as Steven Richards’ team-mate in the Castrol Perkins Racing team for the 2003 V8 Supercar Championship Series. Dumbrell, who drove with team-owner Larry Perkins during this year’s endurance races, made the surprise announcement himself during this week’s AVESCO Gala Awards function held at Melbourne’s Crown Casino. “It was a thrill to drive with a legend like Larry in Queensland and Bathurst and, having received a call from Larry before I arrived here tonight, I am proud to confirm that I will be driving full-time for Castrol Perkins Racing next year,” Dumbrell said. The 20-year-old dominated the second-tier Konica V8 Supercar Series this year, winning four of the five rounds, while also taking victory in 12 of the 15 races contested. He also put his Holden Commodore on pole position at every round. He then teamed with Perkins to finish seventh in the Queensland 500 and fifth at Bathurst. Dumbrell replaces Russell Ingall, who has left the team after seven seasons, and six-time Bathurst winner Perkins, who has retired from full-time driving. |

Paul Dumbrell made a few posts here a couple of years ago - it's a pity he's no around anymore.
Would be great to have a current V8 Supercar driver posting on these boards. Congratulations to Paul anyway for snatching a very decent ride. |

Bucky- you'd be terrfied to know who actually sees these boards... kinda helps to 'only say nice things' most of the time
Good on Paul, after the job he did at Bathurst, he should be capable of sticking it to Richo and co. |

And like having a certain circuit operator walk into the timing room one day, clutching some pages and saying - errr sorry yelling - did you write this (waving the papers at me).
Had to answer truthfully - no - I can't speak in printed formats! (He didn;t like that...) But what he had was being read without reference to the earlier parts of the topic which, as is normal, throws things into an entirely different light... Last edited by RaceTime; 9 Dec 2002 at 02:46. |

I didn't think anyone high up in the biz would be interested in what a few guys are chatting about online.

Haven't we already been doing that?
I guess I could relate a conversation I had yesterday with Caroll Smith re the Moffat years of 1976/77 - but I don;t think I should upset the Moffat fans this month |

Let's put it this way - as I understand it Colin Bond wasn't the only one who didn;t get paid by Moffat around that time....

Buckshot, on all the Forums on the various V8 and Motorsport related sites, you will find most of the teams will have some one who reads on their behalf. They may not contribute, but they all know what is said.
Some of it they dont like, but if its true there is nothing they can do about it. At Indy I was having a chat with a crew member from PWR and I mentioned a few Proposed Driver Changes that had been muted on this and other forums and he's reply was "yeah read that on those sites myself". They are out there and they read these, I Know Ross Stone reads Conrod and Here and others. Ross has even contributed to Conrod. |

BFC - no this is the Colin Bond who is EMPLOYED to hang around in race control and most likely knows a hell of a lot more about motor racing than you and others combined.
