Thruxton testing

Did anyone happen to go to the GT testing at Thruxton?

I just happened to download the times off MST and there is car number 1 VX Racing and car 9 Honda racing!

So what was going on?

If it was Thommo and Alan M they did ok - beat two TVRs.

1. Dunlop Tyre Test

Following a request from Dunlop, the Administrator has approved a request to run three BTC Touring cars during two 55-minute GT test sessions at Thruxton, on Friday, August 15th, to test alternative tyre constructions/compounds. Dunlop has requested that one Vauxhall Astra Coupe, one Honda Civic Type-R and one MG ZS attend, these cars to be supplied by the registered Manufacturer teams.

lol beat two TVR's, thats a bit worrying then you think that a GT car is rear drive and has tonnes of bhp!

Do you have the BTCC times so I can see how fast they were against the TVR's?

Don't expect too much info as Thommo and Reid both stuffed it at the chicane early in the first session.

all those were GTO class.

Looking at those times the two TVRs may have had problems- they're a good couple of seconds off the pace of the other TVRs (the 2 DeWalt cars from Le Mans and the CDL car are both in the 17's) and the Eclipse car in particular is usually one of the fastest TVRs, and certainly shouldn't be doing 1m20's.....

It's an interesting comparison though....

well from mates who were there on Friday - Alan M walloped the chicane, busted his sump, Thommo skidded on the oil, hit the barriers and Reidy in Hughes car T-boned him. The GT practice was then curtailed....

Reids was fixed and came out in the second session.
