Edmonton should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Kyalami

Why did they completely destroy the old track and build the new boring tack?

I think it was sold to housind developers.

Shame because the old track looked fantastic, long straight, fast corners.... heaven!

They sold the land the old track was on, to finance the building of the new track.

Shame. The old track looked fantastic. Great to drive in GP2.

I heard the other day that most of the track has been sold and only about 1mile of it exits anymore. Is this true?

The "new" Kylami's back section is indeed part of the old track. So, the bottom of the old track is the top section of the new one...

Sunset bend is now Budget corner, as Clubhouse is now Yellow Pages...

What I heard was that only 1mile of the current track exists anymore and that major series can no longer race there.

BAR and Williams were testing there only a few years ago, so there must be (or recently have been) a pretty decent bit of circuit there.

Up until this year there has been a world SBK event there, don't know why it was cancelled this year. Also, Does anyone know why the South African GP was only held twice at the redesigned track?
