It's a British Crossley, probably very early 1920's. May even be a bit earlier, but post First World War.

How about this one... does not have a Wikipedia entry! The grille badge reads Fafnir.

Incidentally, I would have guessed Metallurgique - at the same Rally as the above car there were two! Thread to be started and photos posted in due course...

It actually is a Fafnir, German built. Fafnir existed between 1908 and 1926 (according to Georgano) and I would guess this one to have been built just before The Great War; maybe 1913/14.

The only reference I could find was they are a bearing manufacturer (who obviously also made some cars) & now owned by one of the larger bearing manufacturers, but can’t recall which one now. I imagine the owner was nearby busy answering questions all day but I was only able to spend about 2hrs & try to see the whole show.

If we are looking for challenges, how about this one… Seems to be some sort of military vehicle, wearing an Auto Union badge on the front. It was parked next to a DKW.

You can trust the badge on the front; it should be there. DKW was part of the AU group, and this is a DKW Munga; see here:-

Not sure that it is a classic car, though!

Cheers John, I was aware of the connection but not the vehicle - I suppose though many/most manufacturers have had a crack at the light military vehicle market through the years. Definitely a classic, perhaps not a car! At first glance I thought it was a VW Country Buggy (aka Thing in the States)
