Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
About 10am the official list will be published on btcc.net

Don't be surprised to see it online (unofficially) elsewhere beforehand

Cheers mate, looking forward to it. Thankfully Ten-Tenths isn't blocked on the school computers so I should be able to check out all the latest news.

Hasn't anyone been down to Brands to see who's trucks are about? Might give us a few clues!

I expect all the trucks are parked on the grand prix loop just so no one can see them, otherwise you wouldnt even need to go into the track to see them as you can see them from the road or car park

The Cruze looks a great looking touring car, with manufacturer backing Plato will be driving pretty hard this year...its his championship to lose IMO, would have preferred a more experienced team mate along side.

I would question the figure of 500K for a drive, its more like 250K which Liam McMillians dad confirmed last year.

I do hope we see a few more "Catogery A" drivers appearing on the list tomorrow, I still think Turkington will pop up as well as Giovanardi, poss Thompson.

the Cruze does indeed look like what i think of as a proper touring car. Am I right in thinking the Cruze is based on the Insignia chassis?

Nope, you're wrong. Its based on its smaller brother, the Astra Minus it's fancy rear suspension that is.

GBP500K was the figure which was quoted by Phil Glew during his interview at the Autosport International Show earlier this year. As for GBP250K for Liam that will probably be true but the difference comes in the quality of the car and team and a team such as WSR and Motorbase would require a lot more funding that some of the drivers at the back of the grid.

Going slightly off-topic but a friend of mine spent GBP100K on one season in the VW Cup to put it into perspective.

really? haha didnt know that

Chevy have gotta be the team to beat this year no matter who else turns up imo. Plato must be more determined now than he has ever been

I'm sure I remember vauxhall being about 1million to run the team each year? Guess this could be offset by other sponsors though. They also had to develop their own cars which most teams don't need to do.

I guess the £250k was without aditional trackside promotion etc, which in my opinion creates a far better level of return on an investment

what a driver pays and what the team costs to run are miles apart in some cases, Vauxhall at one point i can remember them saying it cost £4 million to run the team for a year and i think it was one of the super tourers from start to finish the car took £21 million to develop fully.

Anyone think we still have the chance of a 'junior' Dynamics team. Steve Neal mentioned a while back that if they got more Honda input they could possibly run another two cars under the TD banner?

Indeed. The "third drivers" at Vauxhall in the mid-naughties were paying £200-250k.

I don't believe any team would get away with charging £500k for a season this year.
...That's not to say they wouldn't charge £50k for a single race weekend though.

I would expect the trucks are all parked in the paddock, and have been since about 5pm.

I don't think they will even move the cabs onto the GP loop for media day, as there are no support vehicles in the paddock, so the "parking spaces" along the fence can be used as an access route.
