"Honest John" works better... often used to refer to dodgy second-hand car dealer's...

Not that John's car dealerships are in any way related to that old image of the bomb-site spiv...

Fantastic. Now I won't be able to get that thought out of my head when watching, or on the way home passing his old pal Derek's dealership. Just imagine either of them wearing an Arthur Daley style hat.

At weekends, John Cleland commentates on World Touring Cars for Eurosport.

Seems his 9 to 5 job is as a Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Disease!

Yes, because there can't possibly be more than one John Cleland in the world He must be busy, what with selling Volvos as well

Curiously though, that BBC article was written by "Jonathan Fildes", although probably not the same one as races Clios

There is another John Cleland whose name frequently appears in eBay searches for the BTCC star, but I don't think we should delve any further into this particular one's profession......

the sniper has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Did anybody else notice Eurosport's typical showing incompetence at the weekend, they put up the commentators names as Martin Haven & David Cleland

That's because they don't know anything about any sport that doesn't have a ball involved in it

Sniper, John rang me on Monday to let me know, after he'd watched the races that he'd taped...

I will be taking my Boots, Mk1, Arse-Kicking For The Use Of to Brno to try and ensure it doesn't happen again
