peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

Another of Josh Dowling's finest pieces of 'journalism'?

As is the current trend of journalism, there is no name put to the piece.

The Opel/Vauxhall/Buick/Holden Insignia/Regal/Commodore has already been evaluated by most journalists as a fairly dull & unremarkable car:
Marek Drives https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7LZnv7EDUs "The Insignia is proof, it is still possible to design a vague, rubbery long-throw (manual) gearbox. The air-conditioner is too loud, even in it's weakest setting."
Redline reviews https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wb1sY98tjmY "Nice driving average commuter car."

So isn't "Commo-bore" -- while blunt -- the correct and logical assessment you would expect?

If you are going to buy a bland mid-sized car, why not buy a Skoda Superb? It comes with a longer warranty.

Nothing wrong with a Skoda Superb. Had one on a 3 week road trip through Qld, NSW, Vic recently, very impressive car! Golf GTi drive train, and you can get a 4wd wagon version with Golf R running gear! The one we had was RRP around $40k. Beats anything GM or Ford have produced for the price.
