Howard managed to hit something in almost every race but never a major crash that I can remember, Taylor-Smith rolled his qualifying at Brands at the last round.
I think tho it must be a replacement for the Will Burns car which was involved in the crash with Collard at Silverstone last year

I found it very cryptic, but also as we said "3 winners" could be independent winners, class winners, or even winners in another series.

if a BTCC "winner" i would think they would also be in for the motorbase ride so maybe they dropped off Shaun's themselves when Bartrum called?

Could that be because Motorbase have already signed him (or was that driver going to be Mat Jackson but he's now signed elsewhere?

I know thats a few years old now and MG arent that vocal and the car isnt in production anymore but I wonder if this has been passed on?

Haven't heard or seen anything from MG regarding BTCC since last year. I'd be very, very surprised if they're still manufacturer backed.

Contracts can always be broken. That article states that the deal was with 888, so perhaps the move to AmD has voided it? Pure guess

The decision for the MGs to be in BTCC was very much influenced by one person, who took redundancy from the company at the end of last season. As far as I'm aware your assumption is correct, and I also don't expect to see the MGs beyond 2018 (but things could change).
