10TENTHS should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Depends which team, amount of testing etc. Carlin probably charge the most.

I've heard the typical budget is ~$1 million. Bearing in mind last season was 18 races and that's been reduced to 16 for 2017, with less travel (no west coast venues).

I wouldn't completely rule out Indycar for Urrutia, Schmidt gave him a test at Mid-Ohio (https://twitter.com/Santi_Urrutia/st...81681620115456) and mentioned him as a possible candidate for a part-time third car.

But there would be no 3rd car from Schmidt, at least no fullseason car. Because after Ganassi switches to Honda there are more Honda teams than Chevy teams.

It isn't a 50:50 split now and it wasn't in 2012 either. I'll believe Sam Schmidt over some random guy who spams fantasy lists.

Alex K has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Nicolas Dapero in at Juncos Racing as well.

10TENTHS, possibly my mistake, as he said to racer.com that it's IndyCar or bust... or good GTs, PROTO2 cars in USA. That tells me he wants to stay stateside, and maybe, just maybe, as nothing really leads to this conclusion, Andretti is waiting for him to come up with some sufficient backing?! They haven't confirmed Sato yet.

Time really to stand up and start fighting for that European talent from European single seater formulas IL team bosses. Product is great and it opens door to ICS and PWC and IMSA.

I've said this before but it bears repeating: Stoneman had a free drive for the last 2 years, in FR3.5 and Indy Lights. That's more opportunities than most get in single seaters, especially at his age. What about the 3 guys that finished ahead of him that don't have a ride yet? (Jones is signed for the full 2017 season)

Someone with his talent should not be spending the penultimate race crashing into Zachary Claman DeMelo and finishing 13th. Chopping in the braking zone at Indy and Road America was also self-defeating.

The problem is many European-based drivers are afraid of ovals. Or tracks without eleventy billion yards of run-off. Jamin is one of the exceptions, his drive at NOLA last year in the rainstorm was great (those would be red flag conditions in European junior series).

That said, USF2000 is seeing unprecedented growth with the new chassis (and old cars will still be allowed to run for a seperate points championship).

Pelfrey tested with Piedrahita at Sebring. You see, this is your problem formulahistory, how do you know what Rayhall was doing next year? I heard he ain't in IL but does stock cars or tin tops, and you've not included Piedrahita, who's been testing with them most off season.

NBC Sports think Andretti's fourth driver will be a "young American" so that would rule out Gonda.

Colton Herta with Andretti Steinbrenner, in other words Andretti Autosport. I did not expect him on the grid, entry list is becoming stronger and stronger.

I thought he was trying to build a career in Europe first?
Apparently not, then?

He ran out of $$$. Steinbrenner owns this car and appears to be putting up the money, Andretti just crews it.
