How good was Chris Bristow?
This is one for the old school, i was born in 1970 so he was a good few years before my time but from what i can make out he was furiously fast and a bit wild, potential champion in some corners apparently. Do any of our senior members remember him racing, in any case the guy looked cool and has to go down as a British hero that got away.

A bit before my time too and someone we hear little about. Presumably because of his short career (only 4 years) that was cut short before it started to really hit the big time. He was four races into his F1 career. I know little, but my boys book of motor racing suggests wild, but fast...

Just about in my time,he was one of my first heroes.He was brought up not far from me in the 50s though I never actually met him.I certainly saw him win the F2 race at Brands August Bank Holiday 1959.Sadly in those days one mistake could be one too many.
