I found 28p down the back of the sofa. If we all chip in, we'll have about £5.60. That could buy the whole team!

Ecclestone giving Caterham the dispensation to skip Austin and Interlagos is interesting. In the past, it seemed like he wanted to get rid of Marussia and Caterham to go ahead with the three car teams. However, the current midfield and even top teams don't seem to really like three-car teams either. That's probably the reason why Bernie doesn't want to lose teams now.

So.. A group of beancounters have apparently taken over not only the operating division of Caterham, but also the 1MRT F1 entrants licence
And they are going to be able to find all the creditors, recognise their debts , keep key technical partners Pirelli, Red Bull Technology & RenaultF1 sweet, with a view to running again... Presably the beanies are going to chase Mr Fernandes and/or Mr Kolles & friends regarding operating the whole shebang whilst technically insolvent... ...the admission/legal finding of which reportedly invalidates the F1 entrants licence... In just a few short weeks Story Here Missing 2 races so the administrators can find a buyer of something that seems as solidly grounded as a bowl of fresh jelly sounds plausible Ciao Caterham. May the administrators eke as much value from what ever assets they find to assure payments to employees, creditors & tax authorities. |

So sorry to see Caterham in the wars. I had really hoped the could build the brand into a Force India franchise.
Its a rather simple question with an obvious answer but it is mind boggling to think that F1 only rewards the top 10 teams, not all the teams. It is a stupid model to exclude any of those that participate in your sport. |

Completely stupid... but then the division of TV revenue among the teams is so twisted it beggars belief why anyone [other than possibly Ferrari] would want to be involved in it at all. As my dad used to say fools and their money are easily parted.

All these supposed interested parties that the administrator refers to, will be wanting to pay next to nothing, which will leave the creditors receiving a few pence in the pound, if they are lucky.
I can't see them coming back for more, so where does the administrator think they will get the parts to run the car in the final race. Apparently when the administrator was shown the cars they were minus engines which were back at Renault for 'servicing' wiyhthe gearboxes at Red Bull for the same. What are the chances of Caterham seeing either of those again? |

With Caterham unlikely to make it back to the grid Marussia is the only one of the three teams that came in on the "40 million budget" set up by Max left. Marussia are also in difficulty what does that say about F1?

that it's home to some of the most creative accountancy in the world?
that you can in fact compete in f1 on a pretty miniscule budget (in relative terms) if that money arrives when it needs to and you have a happy cashflow? |

He's a despicable wretch. This may well be the last year I'll watch a full F1 season. It just feels empty and vacant.

I must admit that I'm starting to tire of Bernie's antics also. The majority of the races this year have been better than the majority of races last year and there's an actual battle for the championship, but the whole mess of the series just makes it less engaging overall.
I just hope that it can recover from this. The main story for the season hasn't been the championship battle, but the in-fighting, bribes and spiraling unnecessary costs, which are making the show worse rather than better. |

That's it exactly... not to mention that half the grid are on a survival knife edge, more seats than ever are occupied by pay drivers and one of the brightest talents in the sport is fighting for his life in a Japanese ICU. I'm just fed up of it all really.

Dutch RTL GP magazine wondered how it was possible for someone suspected of bribery, on trial in a modern European country, to BUY his way out! Not only that .... The defendant explained that he'd paid the bribe, because Mr Gribowski threatened to inform the UK taxservice on Mr Ecclestone's activities! Caterham now, may seem murky, bordering on ludicrous ... but I guess it's still all perfectly normal for the Piranha Club. The pinnacle of our sport ... Good grief, what an embarrassment.

Yes. But, really, has it ever been any different the last 10 or 20 years? Whats so sad is that it will implode at some point. When BS goes, it will need a Nikki Lauda or some other hard ass to keep it running. I just hope it survives, but it has to come into the real World at some point, but while under BS, it never will.

the administrators of Caterham, according to another website claim to be in negotiation with "10-15" interested parties
well, administrators always talk up the chance of potential investors putting in money what a load of bull Lotus, Sauber, all fully working, more successful teams cant find investors the last buyer of Caterham could not keep it going for more than 4 months but the administrators with their magic they expect to do better no hope then R.E. |

F1 teams aren't conventional businesses. A typical administrator is perilously out of his depth in trying to get these things ticking over. That's why the prospects for these teams is so grim.
