Alfa Romeo To Supercar...?

Survey Says : Toyota

Absolutely a current Camry front bumper and headlight...the running light in the bumper has been removed, but that bumper cut is unmistakeable.

Not even close. Bonnet shut line is different, headlight washer under the headlight and the location of the panel line from the headlight to the arch.

I think you'll finds its an Alfa Giulia and the article will be on the new Entertainment Car contract.

Pretty hilarious when you have marques scrambling over being the entertainment car when they are dropping like flies from the actual races.

Not the Entertainment Car according to their FB post - it's about a racing entry:

In today's AUTO ACTION, our own Paul Gover reports that ALFA ROMEO is seriously studying a start in Supercars.
AUTO ACTION can report that the program is built around the all-new Giulia QV road car that lands in Australia in February.
The Giulia QV will be an ideal platform for Supercars as it's fitted with a new-age V6 twin-turbo engine that was inspired by sister company Ferrari and could be tweaked to suit the upcoming Gen2 regulations, just as Holden is doing with the powerplant it will fit into the NG Commodore for Supercars competition from 2018.
“We are looking at all the available opportunities for Alfa Romeo that would fit the brand DNA. It is a racing brand and it’s got a racing heritage,” says the newly-appointed CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in Australia, Steve Zanlunghi.
“No news to report but we are looking at a lot of different things.”
But FCA is well past looking, and AUTO ACTION can reveal there were secret meetings during the Sydney 500 that included a briefing from Supercars’ managing director Matt Braid on the entry requirements and set-up costs for a front-line touring car program.

I LOVE Alfas and would love to see a Giulia on the track but if they end up in V8 supercars, I'll dance the funky chicken on the grid at Bathurst in a tutu.

James Martin on the car that everyone should own at least once in a lifetime

There are two cars every man should own in his lifetime: an Alfa Romeo and a Golf.
The Alfa will give you days of pure driving joy and then hell when it inevitably breaks down, while the Golf will keep going and going.

So.. since we are in the world of possibility...

...how good would a Ludo Lacroix-designed, DJRTP run, Shell branded, Mr McLaughlin/Mr Coulthard driven...

...Alfa Giulia Supercar V6 bi-turbo go in the series in 2018?

Could Alfa be playing V8 Supercars a bit here? You know, suggest you are keen to join a series desperate for manufacturer involvement, string them along a bit and in return get a reduced/free rate to promote your model at the front of the Supercars pack?

Lets face it, Lexus, Chrysler and Audi have all turns at being pace cars, and all have been linked at some stage to joining the series in a racing capacity and never have.

At that price you'd take an AMG every day of the week over an Alfa, surely?

I suspect this would be one of the dearer SC programs.

Cheaper than the Erebus/AMG thing, but still up there.
