Dan Andersen said in July 2013:

Quote:
An F2000 is currently anywhere from $200,000 to $300,000 per car per season. The Pro Mazda budget is in the $350,000 to $450,000 range.

Indy Lights budget, I'm not positive where it is currently, but it should be in the $700k to $750k range.

Urrutia and Patricio O'Ward confirmed for Pro Mazda: https://www.facebook.com/PatricioOWardRacingDriver

Quite a leap for O'Ward to be making (after a part-time campaign in French F4), he's the youngest driver in series history.

O'Ward imo has a brighter future than Urrutia. He's good.

Pro Mazda A 260hp car that's a lot more twitchy than the downforce-heavy chassis used in Europe.

To illustrate my point, here's some onboard action with Nicolas Costa (2012 Formula Abarth champion):

There'll be 2 USF2000 races at the IMS road course this weekend, and 3 Pro Mazda races (an extra to make up for the cancelled NOLA race 2, re-using its starting grid).

Urrutia missed the start and fell to 11th or so. He climbed back to fourth, not bad at all!

Unlike many of my fellows, I'm not too worried about his championship hunt and more about him showing his driving and off-track skills. THese kind of races are a great training and showcase.
