How are people set for a meeting in April for F1 testing or do you want something a bit earlier?

I won't be able to go to one til April so I'm proposing 19 April. Anyone concur?

I was planning to do one (or two) of the sessions 3, 4, 5 April. Hadn't thought about the later April date.

Haha! Didn't expect any less, Minardi Fan. Will you be providing entertainment by running up the road again to seek autographs?

19th April sounds cool, but - like Carrie - I'm hoping to do one of the earlier tests. As long as they're not going to be cancelled...

Okay, 19th sounds good to me as well.
Dan, what's your preference for the earlier days? If I'm working I would rather avoid going on the Wednesday, but if that's the only day you can get free, that's fine by me.

Brain storm.. the "earlier days" you are referring to are 3rd, 4th and 5th of April, right? I have some days booked off already that week but it is to pack everything in the flat as I move out that weekend. I could stretch to doing the Thursday 5th April only from midday onwards.

Is that any good? That fits in with you, doesn't it Carrie?

Seeing as there is an F1 test session this week it seemed appropriate to bring this back to the top

I will be at Silverstone on Thursday afternoon only. I believe the afternoon test session starts at 2pm.

Who else is going on this day or do you plan on meeting up with other memeber on Tuesday 3rd, or Wednesday 4th April?

Don't know if I can do the 5th now. Need to make a trip to Derbyshire for work and looks like that will be taking place on Thursday.

Don't panic - you won't miss much. Today was so cold and wet we went home just after 2pm. Zonta, Panis, Lemarie and Wurz were there but did virtually no running due to the frrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeezing temperatures and rrrrrrrain. Plus Sauber, Prost, Arrows and Williams decided to opt for the warmer climes of Magny-Cours...

Tomorrow will see Hakkinen and Villeneuve take to the track though.

(Highlight of the day - 2 Sauber t-shirts for £15...)

Another 10 Tenths forum user visited the testing and, if anyone's interested, he posted about it in the Technical forum of all places...

lol! It must have been bad!

We had a bad downpour at lunch time today so no doubt it came from or went Silverstone's way. I sympathise, Minardi Fan!

I'm still gonna do Thursday afternoon. Carrie, do you wanna send me a text message on the day if you can make it?

On Tuesday we left at 2.30pm, unable to stand the cold any longer!!! I did however get to drive my dad's Toyota Delica back to Leamington (apart from on the M40 of course), which was very fun...

Today's testing was rather more riveting - Hakkinen and Zonta spinning it, and plenty of running from Trulli and co. in the afternoon. It pi$$ed it down in the morning though - I suggest anyone planning on braving testing tomorrow wraps up warm - in 2 t-shirts, a sweater and a fleece I was still frrrrreezing.

Autographs came courtesy of Ricardo Zonta and a VERY pleasant Mika Hakkinen!!!

See you tomorrow...

Did anyone make it to Silverstone today? It was chucking it down with rain so I chickened out. I spent the afternoon in a Thai restuarant instead

Yes, I MADE IT!!! I spent a bloody cold, wind and rain-swept afternoon at Silverstone, with hardly ANY action on track, and with most people hiding behind the Luffield grandstand. WIIIIIIIMPS!!! So there were about 5 of us out on the terraces and that was it.

AND NO AUTOGRAPHS!!!

Looking forward to the next test though!!!

lol! Getting wet is one thing when you are guaranteed seeing them on a track (ie. a race day) but when it's testing, you can't guarantee they are going to leave the garages.

Now Mindardi Fan, are they wimps and you are the star, or are they sensible and you are just completely mad? Answers on a postcard please
