Yes, it looks like SMP Racing will not drive in 2017 as they also missed the tests

Alex K has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Happy to see il Barone Rampante back in the racing world, hope the likes of Super Nova Racing come back as well. Said that, we really need Durango back with at least one single entry... It starts looking promising for FV8. Recent interview by RUSSIAN TIME team manager Svietlana Strielnikova come to mind. To many racing series, not enough money to support existance. What I understand, she claims GP2 is on the back foot now, where it is not direct path to F1, and it's so much more expensive to run and to race than competition.

It's just a name. Cipriani is probably buying out Durango.

F3 pays enough superlicence points to get to F1, and if Verstappen\Stroll are any indication, testing in older chassis makes up for lack of experience.

I know mate, it's just good to see iconic names with iconic owners back in motorsport.
I believe there is enough Piedrafita engined "Spanish" Dallaras you can take for a spin as well.

What? Cipriani runs a restaurant business as his primary source of income. http://www.cipriani.com/

Not sure of the ownership status, but it sounds from this article (use google translate) that Cipriani has relaunched Il Barone Rampante without Ivone Pinton of Durango, and that Pinton hopes to separately run two cars under the Durango name. I wonder if Ferdinando Ravarotto will remain with Cipriani (as he was at Ibiza Racing in Auto GP & Durango last year).

Nice nostalgia blast to have Il Barone Rampante back. I really hope they run in their classic purple, yellow & white colours (ideally the 1991 livery) -

Really hope the Durango thing works out, i have always had a soft spot for them since the Soheil Ayari days back in F3000, showing my age there.

Meh, I'll eat my hat if they get above 12 entries this year.

Pfft, filthy millennial claiming he's old. What next, you'll tell us the sport started in 1990?

i know that was a rhetorical 'who?!' but he did gp3 last year and some eurocup before then, albeit sporadically. iirc he wasn't bad in gp3?

Certainly his performance wasn´t that brilliant. But he still made an impression in 2015, when he was runner-up to Vitor Baptista in the Euroformula Open.

He scored zero points in GP3 until the Abu Dhabi finale. Alex Palou was light years ahead in comparison.

Cheese

The WEC tie-up didn't bring star drivers to the show. Be careful, Alguersuari. When you cross a double agent there’s always double trouble.

the most worrying problem is that actual champion (Tom Dillmann) has not been able to secure a drive so far
