Save Donington 'Do'- 7th March

Looks like a good number of marshals planning on helping out on Sunday - I'm told the weather should be fine, so hopefully there'll be a large turnout of support.

Anyone who's not already planning on going, I'd urge you to try and be there - there's lots of information on a link from www.donington-park.co.uk.

It would be great to see as many marshals as possible helping out during the day.

Sign-on from 0700(ish) at Exhibition Centre- the day is going to be very fluid, so flexibility and sense of humour will be needed.

I might be able to turn up for the morning, but I have other commitments in the afternoon. Think I'd still be welcome?

I'm going, and I know of two others who will be too (hello Marc and Don!).

So that makes five of us

I'm not a marshall and also won't be able to make it down on that day, I'm going to donate to the fund though, great to see such a movement.

Sure - the more the merrier. And there's a chance to get all your BMMC regalia for the season too!

I'll have to try and make it then. What time is marshal's sign on? And where is it?

Hi all,

Me and Andrew will be there, should be as good day.

Here's the details I copied off the BMMC website for you information.

Thanks
Bob

The Details You'll Need To Know...

With the event scheduled to open at 10:00 am, please arrive at the Museum between 7:30 and 7:45am to sign-on. A team briefing will follow.

On the day, there will be plenty to do including:

• Site Set-Up & Breakdown
• Car Parking
• Collecting Donations
• General Site Maintenance

Therefore, any assistance you provide will be a great help!

Wearing orange Proban overalls isn’t compulsory, but it’s a great way of making your support for the campaign clearly visible. It’ll also help to raise the profile of marshals with both motorsport fans and the general public.

I believe this is out of date information - there will be plenty of help needed from the attending marshals to make the day a success but I don't believe we'll be shaking buckets.

No idea just copied it off the BMMC website, perhaps they need money for spades so we can help with the general maintenance?

It says 'collecting donations' - don't see anything about 'handing donations over'

I'll be there with Chris, giving our support. Really looking forward to seeing what state the track is in, and just how much work is involved in getting Donington up and running again.

Anyone know if there'll be anything open to buy a breakfast on site when we arrive in the morning, or should I stop at a roadside purveyor before I get there?

If you are stopping at a purveyor of roadsides - bring him along, perhaps he could help repair the track?

My family have just put the stops on me going tomorrow. One by one we've all had the winter gutrot, and Friday night was my turn. Thanks kids!

Have fun tomorrow. I'm *really* cheesed off I can't come.

No announcement about the new lease-holder

I've just read in my Mum's Leicester Mercury a statement by 'someone representing Kevin Wheatcroft that the planned announcement tomorrow of the identity on the new lease-holder will not now take place due to delays.
That's a shame...
