Contact this man, it is the only option you have. He's the secretary of the belgian marshals.
roland.lemoine@swing.be

Everything has to go through the proper channels and he hates foreigners (bar the French).
As long as your paperwork is okay, it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Because we keep beating them in all the wars over the last 1000 years or so

And by "WE" he means the British, not those other former colonies!

That will definitely improve your chances! You might also wanna consider marshaling the Spa 24 Hours to improve them even more.

Must say that all the times I have marshalled abroad, I've been made welcome and had a great time.

TBH so have I - Spa F1 & 24hr - briefing in Flemish, French, and then English - mind you, only the English understood what to do when the racing started!

That is the strange thing, foreigners are welcome at races in Belgium, just that the git I mentioned above doesn't like them and he picks who's allowed to come or has to stay at home.
But he doesn't like me either, so what's new?
One of the o so many reasons I stopped marshalling a million years ago in this silly country.

thepits: you are so damn right! (another reason I went)

that's because the visitors want to impress and are trying, while the locals are all "just leave me alone, I know what I'm doing" type

That's so not true. When I was in Germany the clearly wanted us to be impressed while making sure we were involved and knew how to work with them. We can all learn from others and need to show respect.

I've marshalled at many circuits abroad (Zandvoort, Nurburgring, Le Mans, Spa, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Long Beach, Thunderhills Raceway, Mondello and Phoenix Park) and the only time I have ever experienced any antagonism from the local marshals was at Spa. My son and I had been allocated to the Bus stop Chichane. When we got there the Belgian Post Chief made it clear that he did not want us on "his" post. Luckily our Belgian contact was running the pit lane and start line so we moved to his post. The funny thing was that the chichane had no incidents all day but we had quite a few to deal with. It still hasnt put me off returning to Spa at some time in the future though as its a fantastic track.

Fingers crossed.

No - just an established 10 Tenths poster from a 'certain generation'
