Anyone going Rouen Way? French Road Bridge closure.

Don' know if this helps but;


France; bridge closure, there are traffic problems resulting from the closure of the Pont Mathilde for structural inspection / repairs after an HGV caught fire on the bridge.

The Pont Mathilde is the main bridge crossing the Seine in Central Rouen and is at the end of the A28 Autoroute to / from Calais and the Channel Tunnel.

Will affect anyone going this way until Summer 2014

UPDATE..Bridge CLOSED

Bridge needs to be rebuilt and will not be open until summer of 2014

This following a fire in October involving 3 trucks, 3 caravans, 1 refrigerated van and 1 tanker lorry containing 22,000 litres of diesel and 9,000 litres of petrol. The bridge was attacked from above and below as 3 lorries and caravans belonging to travelling fairground workers were parked under the bridge and caught light after the tanker crashed through the central reservation into the refrigerated van. No human casualties according to press reports.
