Indeed. If you don't have a good aero programme, you may as well call it a day, regardless of the power-train the regulations allow you to build. There's currently a 5 or 6 second gap from the front of the field to the back and in power terms that's a couple of hundred horsepower difference, at least. A V10 from the mid 2000's isn't going to put an HRT on pole.
