Looks like Ford decided to remove the "beach" they had in the car 3:55.081 by the #66.

Apparently Toyota can disable the energy retrieval system for qualifying, so no power/energy is lost in trying to retrieve that energy, however little that amount is. This just heard on Eurosport

I'm not too worried about the Corvette's at this point. They usually never go full out for pole and work on race pace the whole time. Proof was last year with the winning car, one of the slowest in Quali but I believe the quickest in the race.

Too hard to tell. CCTV camera from far off. Fire was large enough to see but contained under the bodywork. So could go either way. Probably not great!
