If the imsa.tv stream works like crap (once again), then this will work like crap too. |

Only a couple of cars reacted to the potential yellow because the TV camera never bothered showing it. The 16 Porsche was on the grass for 2 laps before the camera picked it up. Well reacted by the teams who did pit.

I really dislike the pitstop lottery they create with the pitstip-closed rules.

IMSA are streaming on a potato again. By the time it's buffered I guess it counts as tape delayed for us too.

I wondered if this yellow could be any longer? The car drove off as soon as it came out ffs.

The #6 has absolutely checked out at the front of the field. 6 seconds as many laps.
Edit: And of course it pits to make me look silly. |

How difficult is it to retrieve a wheel/tire that is not on the race track?
Let's go full course yellow ... |

Why couldn't a local yellow work for that? They bunch up the field and cause more chaos for no reason.

I haven't watch much imsa this year and I'm starting to realise why...don't get me wrong it looks great racing, but 20 minute caution for a wheel which was 100m away from the track which a marshall chucked in a pick up in about 20 seconds?

So, we need a 12min 45 sec caution to retrieve 1 single tire that was not even on the track?
Impressive! |

Good thing I enjoy cautions, otherwise this race would be frustrating.

Some very shoddy pit strategy cost Penske this one...providing nothing crazy happens.

CORE have gone from 6th to 3rd this stint and the TV director hasn't shown any of it. Instead, we're getting a heartwarming tale of a Ford driver with fluffy slippers.

Penske had the speed to win this but made errors at every opportunity. The early pit strategy was terrible.

Only 7min 25sec to remove a wheel from the race track. That comfortably beats the effort of removing a wheel from next to the track

This caution will basically end the race. Give them maybe 5 laps to run.

Of course it's a Mazda involved in a yellow. I was too happy they were about to get a good finish.

Braun did take the lead before the yellow then. That'll make the restart interesting.

Despite the cautions working largely to their favour, going from the back of the prototypes to leading is a fantastic effort for the #54.
