Ricky Lundgren

Fontana, California -- Ricky Lundgren died at Loma Linda University Medical
Center from injuries sustained from an accident during qualifying for the
AMA Superstock race at California Speedway.

Lundgren, 40, suffered blunt force trauma to the head and chest. Lundgren's
Suzuki was hit by another rider who had lost control and flew over the wall
onto the part of the circuit that Lundgren was on. The Superbike series is
racing on the 21-turn 2.3 mile road course.

A resident of La Mesa, California, Lundgren was pronounced dead at 6:25
p.m., April 6.



Motorsport.com extends their sympathy to the family and friends of Ricky
Lundgren.
