nobody protested and it was'nt registered by the FIA, and since the race result was already "official" they can't punnish Massa anymore, but the FIA will investigate how this could happen.
It looks no worse than the time Webber did it earlier this year, when again it was mentioned as being an automatic false start by the commentators and IIRC surely would result in penalty..... but none was arising. Mind you I think Webber did not make the use of his advantage. Cant remember what race it was now. Good enough for one good enough for all?

Not quite the same sort of deal, but wasnt it Chris Amon who won the Le Mans 24hr race way back when in a GT40, although he actually crossed the line in second place, just. Amon was judged to have travelled further in the 24hrs than I think it was Miles, who was the leader..... until Ford went for the formation 1-2 across the line side by side. Officials judged Amon the winner, although he crossed the line alongside but behind Miles, because he had travelled an extra few feet due to his starting the race further back.

Have the FIA finally seen through Ferrari's team tactics of deliberately having Massa over the line at the Start, to incur a drive through penalty for Massa, and ensure Alonso stays ahead?

Probably just used the same flag they used for Alan Jones back in 1980.

Until this year they probably were not expecting the use the flag much, so hadn't washed it.

They did wash since Alan Jones but left it out to dry all this time, so it faded somewhat.

I see the pratts at F1 management have had the video pulled.
How dare anybody have any enjoyment from the sport without their involvement. This sport is just becoming more and more difficult to have any affection for.

You can see it here. This is private footage so the censors at FOM can't pull it.
