Pre '66 BSCC/BTCC regs help?

Does anyone know where pre 66 British saloon car regs might be found ?

BTCC Time Line

1958
The first series of the British Saloon Car Championship was run by the British Racing and Sports Car Club and was divided into four classes:

1. up to 1200cc
2. 1201 to 1600cc
3. 1601 to 2700cc
4. 2701cc & over

1966
New regulations introduced relaxing restrictions on tuning and modifications to suspension, although stricter rules governing bodywork were instigated.

from 1961 to 1965 inc was run to App J groups 1 &2, which in new money is equivalent to App K and homologated cars

What I'd like to know is where there any regs for early 60's club saloons, or was it, quite literally, anything goes ? the manufacturer 'family' component rule would appear to be one thing, written or not, I guess because it was affordable and accessible. . . . . capacity classes are obvious and a given.
