Tin Tops 2011

I'm liking the race dates and variety of circuits for the coming season

Who's up for Donnington on the 1st October - excellent track.

A little concerned that on Rodders website it says DMN and TinTops combined for this event. With only 36 grid capacity I reckon this could be well over subscribed.

If we check out the popularity of this track now is there a possibility of seperate races for DMN and TinTops??

Other than that, spot on, well done the organisers

Done last race of season 2010 for tintops at Brands Hatch. Great field, would like to do more races with you. Have joined BARC. Can't find information on regs, dates etc. Only able to do rounds in the south of England. Thanks.

Have a scan round this website www.rodbirley.com

You will find all the information you need regarding reg's, race dates, entry forms etc

Be good to see you do the whole season.

Cheers - Andy

Entry forms for 2011 aren't available yet but will be soon. Rods website has the regs and registration forms available though.

Not a lot happening on here, I've been trying to upload a couple of videos of the 2010 Tin Tops season, but the b*****d things keep saying 'unsuccessful'.

They are longer than 10 mins and less than 15, and apparently you can upload over 15 mins onto youtube now. Does anyone know if you have to change your account or pay or something?

I know this is slightly off thread but it is relevant and when the vids are up you will see what I mean.

Cheers

Thanks Tristam
I've finally managed to upload a vid of longer than 10 mins, saves buggering about editing
I have viewed your video 168 times and analysed every braking point, every gear change, where you accelerate etc etc - always need to check out the competition

Funnily enough I've also studied it,there are some real differences to the lines that I take, especially Clearways, plus I use 2nd gear around Druids and 3rd gear for a lot more of the circuit than you but I guess that goes with having a faster car and higher gearing. What do you rev to in 4th?

By competition I take it you mean who you lap in the last few laps at Brands Hatch

Copperbottom, I thinks it revs to about 7000.

Hi Andy,

any similar footage of Race 1 - I much preferred that one to the disaster that was Race 2!

New engine required but it's coming along. Will be doing Classic Thunder this year. You out with SEMEC and Tin Tops?

Hi Chris

Yep, I will be uploading that as well and all the races eventually. There are some early season races already on youtube; search for kart2495.

Will post them on here as they are uploaded.

Cheers - Andy

Could you help me out? joined the BARC, joined the south-east part. Do I get sent anything? I want to register for the tin tops. Everytime I look at the BARC south-east center it only tells me what happened in 2009! Who, what , where, why , when?

PS I am the driver of the silver and pink clio

Tris you're becoming quite the star, rivals watching your braking points and lines.

Yes, that's the intention. We did a double header with them at Pembrey last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. The class structure has 1400 modified on race tyres against 2 litre on type 1A/B's and we were competitive. Chris had two very hard fought races for the class.

I noticed in MN today that former DMN champ Jason Watkins has brought his car back and now intends to run it in Tin Tops.
According to the MN its got 170bhp, should give the front runners something to think about!
