Very dissapointing, again we have a car at the 24 hours that will not have had a decent tetst before the race if it goes on like this.

He should honorably withdraw this chassis , and not suffer the post race abuse , like AMR suffered last year and since , imo .

I have tremendous respect for Henri , but not for this effort , being his doing or not .

Puncture cause the incident? RR tire looks totally shredded while the LR looks intact.

Edit: Caught the report in the Dome thread that it was a puncture or tire delamination that caused the tire to explode. Not that it matters now, but don't all Michelin runners use the same basic tire pressure warning system like what Audi and Peugeot have used in the past?

I'd hate to speculate, but it had to be an explosive delamination to cause that damage--how big of a piece of debris does it take co cause a puncture that can do damage of that magnitude?

there is to say that not all michelin runners use the same tires... maybe they used an extreme pressure for the tires hoping to find a set-up to taking them sooner in their temp optimum.

Ill reiterate something i've posted before:

If a diesel LMP1 engine makes 900nm with a max RPM of 5000, and a NA petrol engine produces "only" 400nm with a max RPM of 11000:

With both cars geared for the same top speed in max gear, there is a ratio of 11/5 between the highest gears for each car. Thus at the wheels, if the diesel produces 900x nm, the petrol produces 400x * 11/5, which is 880x.

900 vs 880 is the real comparison, not 900 vs 400.

Those new holes above the wheel arch probably dont help . Instead of a tyre flapping around the inside of a smooth wheel arch , we now have a hole to help the issue along .

The rear suspension broken was probably the real cause of the crash ,it is reported that happened to 300 kmh.
NO news about P03 ..........

From multiple sources, tire failure was the cause.

the image that you self posted explain that the crash was surely because of tire explosion... if was a suspension failure the tire won't appear like this but in a unusual asymetric position because of suspension arms broken.

toe links and pushrods as a result of the flailing tire at 310 km/h. After. This per Mr. Yucchi: tire failure.

So, any updates on the Luxury Ferraris? Any idea if they'll make it to Le Mans?

Apparently the (delayed) rollout of the Pescarolo 03 is planned for next week.

Good that they can race and we don't lose two important WEC competitors.

Didn't really seem like Henri had a leg to stand on after learning about the deal.

The next twist could see Pescarolo come under attack. According to this Luxury will look to take action against those who have harmed the team and its reputation. They lost three weeks during the arguments.

That is the Luxury version of the story.

http://www.autonewsinfo.com/2012/05/...vue-48481.html has some comments from Henri Pescarolo. Apparently the Luxury lawyers convinced the Belgian judge that two Ferraris are not theirs. The cars are owned by a company whose headquarters is located on Saint Martin in the Caribbean
