Schanche Escorts

Am sure Ed or someone can answer this one.

Some kind sould has uploaded a few videos from 95/97 onto youtube and am getting a little confused about Martin's green Escorts.

Now I know the 95 title winnign car went to Ludvig who then won the title with it.

But, the later shape Schanche car was the one using the clever gearbox and stuff.

Now, did he build two of these particualr shape cars,a slightly newer body shell shape as I recall?

Coz in the 96 Lyngas round he is in one car, then 97 it looks like a differnet car as Jan Arthur Iversen is also in a Glomma Papp car that looks very much like a Schanche built one, maybe even the 96 car? Martin is still using his car with the massive rear wing, presumably Jan's car is the one bought by John Moloney?

And later still there is a video from Lydden in 97 where Martin is "debuting" a new car in a sort of test run, presumably after picking it up from the UK on the way back from Norway?

So, 95... wins title after building in 93, using anoterh in 94, sold to Ludvig, all same car?

96 builds new one with concentric driveshafts etc. Sells to the Iversens maybe?

97 another new one, perhaps this is the one that went to Kuypers when Martin moved to Opel?

I know Martin hired a car for the first few rounds of either 96/97 but I cant remember the name of the driver he hired from

For the first three 1996 ERC rounds, the Ford Escort RS Cosworth of Bjørn Skogstad. Did not drive the car in Sweden (Rd4) and had his own new RS2000 ready for Mondello (Rd5).

OK then, I was fairly clear on the 93/4 car, I just am not sure if Martin built two more green cars?

Cannot help you about the Iversen cars, Chunder. These people were all but helpful back in the days, to say it politely...

However, one thing is for certain, Martin's 1995 Mk6 (rented by Ludvig for 1996 and bought for 1997) as well as his 1996/1997/1998 Mk7 were both in that strange Ford yellow. I'm not aware (or possibly just don't remember?) that Martin had built one or two Escort for the Iversen's.

After the fatal accident during the 1996 FIA Internations-Cup in Essay there were several changes for the 1997 SuperCars (45mm restrictor, no more slicks, etc.), but the huge wings were banned after the 1998 season.
