Old Indy Car/ Champ Car Pics

I searched for something like this but couldn't find anything so I figured I'd start a thread devoted to what the title says.

I hope other photographers will contribute to this thread too,

I will add to my Champ Car set whenever I get the chance and will note it here.

My Champ Car set...ranging from the mid-'70s through '97...

Indy at Monza Italy

Hee
I found 2 old Pics from a 500 Miles Race with Indy Cars.
The Races were hold in 1957 & 1958.
Jim Rathman won in 1958 with a average of 286 km/h.
The old Oval Circuit is now in a poor condition.

Greetings superhen

Johnny Boyd

In 1961 A. J. Watson was a dominant chassis builder, working with car owner Robert Wilke of Milwaukee and his Leadercard Racers, his regular drivers, Roger Ward and Len Sutton being supplemented with journeyman driver Johnny Boyd. Up until now most roadster chassis used torsion bar front suspension with a solid axle, however Boyd's has coilover shocks & springs. Pretty advanced until Sir Jack Brabham shows up with his Cooper Climax and things would never be the same.[IMG]

Clark "Shorty" Templeman

Another well turned out restoration was the 1962 Watson/Offy, The Bill Forbes Special, that was driven by Clark "Shorty" Templeman. Templeman finished in 11th at the '62 Indy. He was a midget champion out of the Pacific Northwest, became a solid contender, but never a winner in Indy competition.[IMG]
