He is politician, he was ruthless in WRC....

Todt has F1 costs on his radar. I wonder what he is going to actually achieve on that front given the way Bernie has everything setup, then Bernie might like to change things as well.

You are absolutely right. I have yet to see any gun! Clearly it is a simple as everyone realizing this. They just need to have a meeting and say "Effective tomorrow, we voluntarily slash our respective budgets and make them 10% of what we have today."

Minus a large chunk of staff, we would still have the same teams, same calendar, same championships, same well funded teams still spending the most, and the same poorly funded teams spending the least. It should be basically the same as today, but for a lot less money! Problem solved.

But wait... It is a competition and I could just maybe see a mid level team saying... "If we maybe just didn't cut the budget as much as the others we could actually improve our position in the championship! Or better yet, let's just spend as much as we are able to get from our sponsors and we might be the best funded team of them all! We could hire the best design staff, best drivers, etc."

But what if more than one team thought that way? I wonder what would happen?
