Thanks BS. sincerely, Michelin
You were able to help us find more top speed without sacrificing any front end grip. It is with great pleasure and appreciation that we write this letter. Any more contributions will be gladly appreciated.

Weren't the Ferraris 3 tenths quicker than everyone else in free practice this morning? And that was on the lap Michael tried a new route round the Parabolica too... |

I thought it was a different (tidy) lap.
The Ferraris did look strong for most of the session. They are the only Bridgestoneteam up there, but they are the best Bridgestone team, so it isn't too surprising. |

The conventional wisdom is that the narrowr tyres won't be at any real disadvantage at Monza, but will be at Suszuka, and Indy to an extent, so we can't yet see what effect the ruling has had.
Besides, with Ferrari quick, and Frentzen putting a Sauber in the Top 10 on pace for the first time in ages, Bridgestone may still have the upper hand around Monza. |

n a h... Bridgestone had given a great chance for showing Michellin improvements. Remember the radial tyre "invention"? It came from French tyre camps.
I just hope the narrower front tyre can improve/increase Willies chances. |

Michelin have not lost anything at this circuit with the new rubber, I would expect them to quickly overcome any expected difficulties at Indy or Suzuka. This new method of producing new rubber very quickly is paying off for them. |

I'm still waiting for them to come out with the matching team color tires like they talked about when they re-entered F1. They look cool on bicycles. The Regie w/ matching blue tires, Willie w/ dk blue...Macaroons w/ red!

He really is an underdog now. Twenty points after this race. Definetly all over if Micheal or Montoya comes 2nd or Kimi wins.

tried to warn you about counting chickens...
MS has silenced some critics for now; perfect q lap and he held of the hard charging Montoya in lap one then controlled the race... He may be getting old but today he showed some of that brilliance from days gone past... |

You mentioned Goodyear, Phoenix1, and it is a possibility. It was reported by Gerry Donaldson on the TSN broadcast of Monza that representatives of Goodyear had been present at the previous 2 Grands Prix, and were at Monza again. Presumably meetings with Bernie and the team principals occurred.
It would be most interesting to find out which teams would make the switch. It was thought that Bridgestones' close relationship with Ferrari gave them an advantage, but now it seems that Michelin has gained an advantage from the input of several teams, coupled with their ability to produce new compounds in record time. |
