All Atlantics races will be broadcast live and free of charge on the web in 2006.
And with sound. Not bad! |

Ive been watching the feed since before the race started, there is more time spent on commercial break than green flag.

Ive never seen it this bad, there was literally 5 or 6 commercial brakes in 50 minutes of racing.

Keep in mind that the race is not being shown on Speed until next weekend. The only commercial breaks where they missed a significant amount of time was during the full course cautions where they were cleaning up the turn 1 aftermath. The commercial breaks that they took during the green flag were maybe 10-15s long. In the TV production, there will be very little green flag action missed.
Matos seemed quick. It's a shame that you can't get much of a run coming out of the corners in these cars. Otherwise he wouldn't have been stuck behind Bomarito for so long. |

iwas there in person.. the new cars- wow!
much better racing, and they are loud but not in the screeching 1600 4age way but in a thumping deep burbling of a raspy bigger 4 nice. the bodies are way sleek (the tyre look puny though) good stuff. |

May ive been away too long, but they took a break about lap 3, and had at least two within the first 10 laps. I just felt like I barely saw any racing, and thats including the yellow flag time.

Speed is bad for breaks. It can be really quite insulting to the intelligence at times. So, if there are other channels showing something, and they are not as bad, then I watch them and use Speed to plug the gaps. It is the occasions when they go for a break, come back, then last about 3 minutes until their next one that really get to me (there have been occasions I have witnessed when they have barely made it to 60 seconds, but not very often admittedly).
If it makes you feel any better, Fox weren't any better during the Nextel race today. During the green flag periods, you were doing really well to get over 6-minutes before the next break. Still, if there are yellows going around, it can be, but by no means necessarily, OK. It is just when there aren't that it can be seriously frustrating. The case of the ads taken in green flag periods only being 10-15 seconds: why not just not take them? |

It's the country - the US have a lot more ad breaks than the UK - I believe it can be a factor as to why some Americans have a shorter attention span than the British - just the way it is!
On the plus side it's being shown and for free...you can't have everything! |
