PenguinPunch should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Spanish F3 Championship 2009

Can anyone tell me more about this championship? I just stumbled onto their web site, and it looks like a great little series.

http://www.gtsport.es/index.asp?pagina=f3

It says on their web site "EXPECTED 24 SINGLE SEATER ON THE FIRST MEETING IN VALENCIA"

The Championship has events at current Formula One race and test tracks - AND SPA FRANCORCHAMPS!

From the looks of it all cars use the Fiat motor - must be to control costs and keep a level palying feild.

Anyone out there know much about it?

It is a very good championship, saw the penultimate (I think) round of the 2007 Series at Valencia, when Nicolas Prost was racing. Some very good racers have come up through the series over the past few years.

And if you're interested it's at Donington on the 4/5 July alongside the International GT Open.

Sounds good. I'll be in the UK around that time of the year for business - hopefully I can time it right!

Is this the series that Jaime Alguersuari competed in last year???

Please use the thread jondownunder has referred to for further discussion to avoid confusion about championship titles etc, as we are all still getting used to the new 'Open' moniker of Spanish F3 etc..

Many thanks.
