The first coming together already!
Albers and Schumacher have damaged their races cars already.
Albers at a higher speed got caught out by Schumacher wandering on the track! A silly mix-up by the looks of it! |

Albers Shumacher Collide going to Grid
Albers and Schumacher have collided heading to the starting grid. Both teams are scrambling to prepare the 3rd cars.
-Good you merged them. I think we posted at the same time. |

Schumacher at fault in my view.
Both will now have to start from the pitlane. |

Indeed. It looks like schu forgot to check his mirrors, although albers could have been a bit more cautious.

Talk about an exciting start, shame we won't get pictures in Australia for at least another 10/15 minutes.

DC has pointed out that he nearly had a similar situation with a Toyota and something else. It is fairly ususal, some cars are saving fuel and some are trying to find grip. He suggests that we should have some rule about keeping up a decent speed on the ay round to the grid.

The drivers being cautious during the exit lap and being aware that there are others on the track as well should suffice. However, taking a more "pragmatic" approach it would probably be a good idea to give certain "incentives".
*OMG, I hope we have an exciting race because it's 1AM here and my eyes are strggling to stay open. I might not make it to the end of the race* |

Take a squiz at the damage done by a grate from the V8Supercar meeting at the same circuit, earlier in the year.
The grate stood up, and sliced open the Orrcon Falcon like a can opener....... The thread in the Aussie forum is Here |

As I'm sure they will.
As Kimi said - it's not the end of the world. They'll try again next year. |

I'm sure they will.
But still, even without the incident, Mclaren for once look incapable of beating Renault flat. Renault did a brilliant job to win the constructors today. |

The situation with Albers and Schumacher showed how bad the parc fermé-regulations are. Both had to start from the pits, because the regulations say so.

And why shouldn't they start from the pits?
They raced different cars to those they qualified - so it would be wrong to start them from their original grid positions |
