Ray Bell should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Dick's Car Crashed

One of the Dick Johnson Racing cars has been involved in a nasty off-road excursion near Narrandera on its return from the Albert Park races.

The towing utility has had its roof crushed down to bonnet level after rolling when the rig left the road, the driver suffering minor injuries.

The race car, in an enclosed trailer, escaped virtually unscathed.

This information is from the WIN TV news Wagga edition, Wednesday March 6.

well at least the Falcon's OK

Seriously though, hope that guys OK - he must feel a tad stupid knowing he's just crashed a V8 Supercar, whilst driving on a public road. For his sake, I hope the police don't release his name

Was it a current race car, a show car, the Sierra?

The race cars would be in the billion dollar pantech...surely that wouldn't tip over?

Looked like an AU to me, though it was only a glimpse. I think the driver had head and spinal injuries, as I listened more closely to the later news...

Sounds like a show car... they wouldn't be transporting the race cars in anything less than the pantech.

Sounds nasty, I hope the driver makes a speedy recovery.

Glad to hear no one seriously injured. Now he's just got to survive the wrath of Dick.

Probably has to wait a few days to face that, seeing as he's 1900km away and in a hospital...

Emfa should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I know this is getting to be fairly old news by now, but... I finally got the scoop and thought I'd pass it along in case you hadn't heard (my brother scanned and sent the story from the Narrandera Argus).

It was the Sierra in the trailer. According to the article, the F150 was extensively damaged, the trailer slightly damaged and the car unscathed! It seems the trailer came loose from the F150 which then rolled, while the trailer ground to a halt. It was reported that the driver had severe head lacerations and suspected spinal injuries (like Ray heard). I hope that he's mending well.
