So who else, besides Mr Bright, saved their soft tyres for tomorrow? Mr Bright may be a dark horse, if the strategy works, to get a top 10 place in R2... if he can keep his head

Well I have now had my first experience as a punter on the hill watching the whole soft and hard tyre thing. Now I pride myself on having a reasonable understnading of the game, but let me tell you if you are at the track you have little idea of what is going on. My wife and several others had absolutlely no idea who was where and I have to admit it took a fair wack of concentration to know what was the situation.
Is this what we want, I am not sure. Tomorrow we have to suss who has softs and how much were they used, who kept softs, who has hasn't fuelled yet. Not sure the average punter (sorry Michael) really has a grip on what is going on. Stay tuned I will think about it tomorrow. It is all too hard now. |

Was'nt the best race, but not the worst.
A few points of interest. I thought brake testing was frowned apon by the stewards? Was Tander investigated for his stunt in Murf in quali? Whincup was very lucky to win after his 'defensive driving' in the opening laps. Well done by Tander for showing restraint. Would have thought HRT would hold off Tander's pitstop longer so he did'nt re enter in heavy traffic. Jason Richards, that was the dumbest move exiting the pits. Could have ended in tears big time. Dale Wood is out of his depth and should not be in the main game. Two rounds in a row! Nice pass by Courtney on Holdsworth when McConville was chasing them on the sprint tyre. It's obvious there's no team orders at HRT, after watching Tander and Davison duke it out. Don't think there are the big gains to be made on the sprint tyre in Darwin like elsewhere. Be interesting to see how Jnr and Bright go today. |

I'm glad it came out, the race was pretty boring up until that point.

That was a really good race - enjoyed that.
I've not really been sure about the sprint tyre before now but today the combination of circumstances really delivered. Also enjoyed seeing two of the best out there (CL & GT) pushing to the edge for lap after lap at each other. Lastly, just a fantastic thing for Michael Caruso to really be able to show his class - hardly made a mistake all day and a well deserved win. |

great race!
well i can honestly say today was great, Darwin always has some of the best racing of the year but i honestly have to say today is the first race in a fair while where i have been on the edge of my seat for most of it and there was some great battles throughout the field.

Congrats to MC & the boys at GRM, old Gary Rodgers had a tear in his eyes, and well done for sticking with MC.
Also to A.Davidson & SBR great tyre call. |
