I reckon they could have had 18, but time ran out. Shame as it would have been good.

Silverstone 30th still features FF at present, although I won't be racing myself.

There are enough unsettled issues with weekend racing before we start creating more with mid-week racing.
Hey - I don't mind being asked to do anything. The great advantage in being an unpaid volunteer is that I am free to say 'no-sorry, can't manage that one'.

(And i'm still looking forward to the Donington evening on Thursday.)

kartingdad has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Just heard abiut the cancellation. Ian Still has not been told fficially, I have cut short my annual hols to fly back early.

Ian has d0ne loads of promo at his work and has lots of workmates (and his boss, a potential sponsor) lined up to come down. All for nothing. Well promoted BRSCC, and how professional to communicate it to competitors so promptly. Not.

Same problem here with our driver, car prepared and nowhere to go - and before anybody says Edwina - not good enough value in terms of track time. The reason for this failure lays with several parties. BRSCC for not promoting it well enough, drivers for the usual apathy - 'NW out of area' - Donington is not Mars it is less than 100 miles, and then the usual 'Jonahs' that inhabit motorsport and love to see any new innovations fail. It is really sad.

Can you all please get some cars at Silverstone on the 30th?!

I love Formula ford and some of the battles last week were amazing with only 9 cars. If I wasn't such a poor, fat f**k then I would consider getting a car myself.

Blaming the drivers has started.

I have it on good authority that there are already 14 entries for the FF1600 and I am aware that there are a further handful on their way. If in doubt, please enter.

Was it the replacement race for FF1600 that only had 7 cars racing at Donny yesterday!?

And described to me today as "the most boring race I have seen since I accidentally went to Britcar."

Yes that was about the only downside of the evening. They should have stuck with FF.

Otherwise almost everything went as advertised. Good effort to do something different. Now all they need is spectators (and a few more FFs ).

Really excellent Mazda races and the handicap worked well. Odd idea for those cars but nice to see something new.

Regards

Jim

I suppose we have had the usual effusive apoligies from the BRSCC. No? Thought not.

Why don't we get the 750 mc or the BARC to promote FF1600?

Couldn't be any worse, after all, they would just have to do next to nothing and still be better.....

Update here..

Ian has not had any contact with the BRSCC to say the race was cancelled, and had to ring them up today to ask when his entry fee would be refunded.

Any wonder he is totally cheesed off with racing. Not worth the hassle even trying to race is his not unreasonable view.

Lets face it, if you had to deal with a supplier of services who behaved in such a manner, (in whatever field you purchased, either privately or commercially) would you bother?

Please, please, Mr BRSCC, get real.

What I'm not clear on is to what extent decisions about Powernights are made by BRSCC and to what extent they are made by Motionworks.

Niether am I but I've made some suggestions to the organisers that would certainly make sure the grids get to decent numbers. But offered a couple of vees for Silverstone to tack on the back (or handicap?) the organisers turned them away (though I only offered them on the condition of paying an entry for the evening only). I know they are nt FF1600s and at Silverstone around 5 secs a lap slower than the fastest 1600's its more meat on the grid and no wings!

As for BRSCC not communicating - well is anyone actually suprised at that? Next somebody will be shocked when they lose money on something or cock up using a safety car
