Marshalling

Can someone explain how I'd go about applying to be a marshall? I've got no idea where to start.

Cheers

Hi Skivleditch, as you might guess from my nickname I spend many summer weekends marshalling, and I'd definitely recomend it as a way of being involved in motorsport at low cost. I personally find it very rewarding and you get to meet all sorts of interesting people.

the best place to start would be to go to the marshals club website - http://www.marshals.co.uk/ - where there is plenty of information about getting started. Hope to see you in orange soon

Cheers

Hi Skivleditch, I can only add that without the marshals, we could not do what we do, so in that sense YOU make it happen. I was carried out of my car at Oulton Park after an accident last year with a query about damage to my neck.
They were prompt, careful, caring, cheerful, efficient and very professional so I can only congratulate you if you do become one of this terrific group.
(by the way, the neck was fine, also no brain damage....they couldn't find one!!)
