rmross should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Where are the Lola F3 cars?

Does anyone know what ever happened to the Lola F3 cars which were built around the 2005/2006 time frame? I know that they were run in the German and the British series at one point, with some decent results.

Do these cars ever show up at an F3 race, perhaps at the club level? Which teams are operating the cars these days?

Thanks!

The cars I believe were used as the basis for the Jim Russell school car in the USA.

Yup, Lola F3 cars with 300hp Evo engine plopped in the back. Not sure if they're actually converted cars or just based on the design though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Fluid Motorsport were using Lola chassis in British F3 before they left to concentrate on their Formula Ford commitments.

Was the Eco-F3 car based on a Lola design too?

Yes, the Jim Russell school cars were based on the Lola F3, but as far as I know the cars were purpose-built for the Russell (and other) schools. Lola currently offers this car as their World Junior Car with various engine and downforce options.

I would still like to know what happened to the original Lola F3 cars, such as the ones operated by Fluid in the UK. I suspect that these cars are now in the hands of private owners, perhaps being used for club racing or track days. Has anyone seen one of these cars in the past few years?

I can;t remember the chaps name - Betrand something or another - but he was trying to sell me one of the F3 chassis they have at the factory (I think there was 3-4-5 from memory). I suspect they were leased to the teams and now collecting dust.

He wasn't interested in a discount bid however!!!

The F3 cars that Lola had sitting around the factory have all been sold. Not sure who the buyers were, or where the cars are now.

Lola does still have a Lola-Dome F3 car that they are willing to sell.....you would have to contact them for more details.

Was that car not then used in National Class by Charlie Hollings, who also won with it?

I think that the race-winning 2006 cars were designated by Lola as model B06/30. Not sure what the ID number was for the Lola-Dome.

The B06/30 cars are now most likely in private hands somewhere in Europe, perhaps with club racers. At least one of the Dome cars is now owned by Lola.

The Lola-Dome was F106 (F106/03 in 2003 and F106/04 in 2004). The 2005 Dome car was F107.
