The deal was if you use their 'mother chassis' you have to put the engine in the same spot as it is on the road car. I'm not positive, but that may not be a direction the teams have to take. Unless of course the mother chassis is used as a spec to all future GT300s.

So has the chassis dispute between DTM and Super GT been resolved? Or is the demand that all team buy the European manufactured chassis still a sticking point?

I think BMW is the key here. If they feel they should go in a direction closer to SuperGT, I think that's what will happen. BMW seems to be the manufacturer that's keen on trying SuperGT GT500. If they have to run their DTM car, it will need BOP work. Maybe it won't be far behind with the type of tire the GT500's run on. I hope it has some innovation left in the series when they combine, and it's not a 'spec aero nothing changes during the year'.

So the Japanese will be working to regs outlined by the Germans? *sigh*

Plus, I don't know if the unification is so desirable, I'm not even sure that Audi will stay in DTM, the results show how pointless it is for them to run there when BMW turned up with a new car and so far, have been trading blows with Audi.

I think something would sink both DTM and Super GT in the future if either Audi or Mercedes pull out from DTM. If they're instrumental on the rule unification and then suddenly pulled away when the deed is done, I would brand them as stupidity for their part.
