In the V8-engined cars, the radiator is laid back, beyond 45 degrees.

Lowers the COG, and allows room for a more optimised (for flow and aerodynamic trickery) cold air intake to the engine. The is picked up from the intake in the bottom bumper opening, whilst the grille is blanked off (again to optimise aero).

If you notice on the Sandman with the V6TT installed, the air intakes for the engine are in the grille itself. Somewhere below those, the intercooler is packaged to fit above the radiator.

I've seen none with that layout, certainly not the walkinshaw and their customers, perhaps t8 and they ford teams do it differently? But I don't believe so.

Regs don't allow engine air intakes from the grille anymore either and with the engine rad and oil rad there's little room remaining for anything else from these bottom feed.

Perhaps without the requirement if ram air intake for the turbo there will be enough room for all cooling to be taken from the lower duct but it's not nicer air if they option exists for vents higher up.

Good and they should make the intercooler work within the parameters of the existing intake. Being allowed extra vents in the bonnet is silly. Unnecessary extra work with the rehomologation of aero business that really should be avoided.

Some of the F1 teams (Ferrari) use the water cooled intercooler, as do the Nissan Infiniti road cars. It's a good solution to reduce the cumbersome piping length for air-to-air intercooling.

Why didn't they just make the radiator opening larger for ALL versions of the ZB (if they know intake space will be a problem for V6TT) and accept the drag penalty?

Never ceases to amaze me how teams don't co-ordinate these livery/season launches better. Barely anything in two weeks and then three in two days.

Nick Moss has done a great job with design of the GRM mobiles, congrats to him, and I know many wont give two thoughts but congrats to Andy Pearson for his photography at the Erebus reveal, stunning work.

Mr Hazelwood is revealing his today, along with the Supercheap #55.

Agreed on the GRM cars. Mr Moss has knocked it out of the park on all of them.
