Toyota tried double stinting last year until almost the end of the race and it didn't gain them anything because of tire drop off. They'll probably check the #1's tires and see if it's worth the gamble as far as time gained.
Audi, though, have been quite a bit easier on their tires than Toyota and Porsche have been most of the season. I also have no doubt that driver change or not, Seb will need new tires after the spin and burn out. |

Both Audis are double stinting drivers and tires.

Really wish the Audi and Porsche didn't look so similar

Something very odd has just happened at MotorsTV. I have the stream up for when they got to Ad breaks and they returned to the exact moment from where they left off....so they're now two minutes behind. Bizarre.

#2 has ended up just behind #8, now we'll see whether it drives away or if Lotterer can keep up.

The #8 lost 35 (!) seconds to the Audis with that stop. Even with changing the tires, that's a massive amount.

Hmm MotorsTV running 2mins behind Eurosport coverage. As bad as a live stream!

According to Twitter, it's #8, #2 and #1, so the #7 Toyota has also dropped back due to having to change tires, the #2 is only a couple of seconds behind the #8.

Pit lane times: Audis did 54 and 55 second pit lane times, #20 did 1:22, #7 did 1:24, #8 did 1:29. Didn't catch the #14's time.

No--only thing that I'm picking up is twitter and what you guy's post until FS2 gets the race back on.

Not looking good for Toyota right now. The #8 can't pull away from the #2 and the #7 is falling away. With the longer stops and poor tire life for Toyota, the race is swinging towards Audi.
Lapierre being in the car is a mitigating factor for the #8, Buemi and Davidson are certainly much faster, but the tires are fresh for Nico and he should be getting away. |

Only times I've seen Nico gain on Andre is in traffic, and that swings back and forth. Audi are in much better shape now than before the first round of stops.
And Conway is about 15 seconds behind Duval, and that gap's been fairly stable. |

The lead is growing by the lap Audi is barely near the same pace on used tires.

Would the Toyota have new tyres at each pit stop ?

Gaining a few tenths or a second or two in traffic won't make up for likely having to take tires at every stop at least until night fall. Also, most of the Tilke designed tracks are brutal on tires, and that's been Audi's main ace most of the season.

We'll see. Probably depends on the compound and temp.
