New teams for IRL
Two new teams will grace the grids this year.
Conquest racing will be rejoining the IRL from Indy Lights with Laurent Redon for a full season. Meanwhile a team formed from the remnants of Team Xtreme will field Hideki Noda in a G-Force-Chevrolet. Convergent Racing will also compete for a full year. |

I also believe that New Zealander Matthew Halliday (who drove for Conquests Indy Lights team last year) is trying to do a deal with their IRL team for either the full year or just the Indy 500 Im not sure.
But i hope he can pull something together as he is a pretty decent driver. as for hideki Noda , wow that one came out of the blue , havent seen alot of him except for his Three Formula One races back in 94 and he wasnt that impressive in them , but i hear he has been fairly good in Japanese F3000 |

I saw Matt Halliday race in Indy lights last year, pretty impressive on the superspeedways!

marcus, i think from memory that hideki noda was wayne gardners team-mate in all japan gt in 2000
 , (aswell as doing formula nippon), as for matt halliday trying to get a ride, that would be fantastic if he can get the $$$$ behind him.

hmmmmm ..or was that Naoki Hattori gomick ????
im not sure it was one of those two anyway  and Beer Baron what made hallidays performances even better last year was that he had never driven on an oval in his life , he grew up with the traditional circuit racing lifestyle in New Zealand and here in Australia and impressed alot of people and then went to the US , so I hope he gets a ride somewhere in the IRL. Havnr mentioned Redon as yet either. if my memory is working as it should I think he did the last round of IRL las year ??? he comes from the classic European stlye of racing of F3 and F3000 but from all accounts is quite good as well , I have somewhere some footage of him in a go kart and he was very impressive in that , so he should do OK I think !!!! |
