it'll never happen, not with Mr Reid on the circuit!!!!!!!!!

Another one i'd like to do / see - to see some bloody racing in F1 again, where people actually try to overtake rather than trawl round single file 'cos the technical aspects of the cars make it nigh on impossible.....come on Australia!!

To attend a dinner dance for all marshals paid for by the MSA with Bernie and the heirachy of the MSA waiting on tables.

Will never happen

good idea though, a few hours of an audience with..., etc.. will kind of start to disspell any myths perceived about for bernie and crew, even if they will end up going back on themselves in 6 months!

frustrating though, now more proof he'll end up winning the next 15 championships. i was holding out for seb to be a less prolific overtaker, some drivers never develop skills they badly need, never mind...

I would love to be able to do the below at least once:
  • marshal spa (hopefully next year)
  • marshal at Bathurst
  • Chequered Flag a BTCC race
  • Goodwood

will be doing spa next year easier than what you think to volunteer for all the high profile meetings, ive done backup chequered loads but never the 1st cheq its kind of good, goodwood f.o.s or revival, revival is highly recommended,

my best advice if f.o.s try to do 1 or 2 days and not the 4 or at least do the rally stages and turn up as a spectator for the rest of it. people were like oh do it for the experience, i signed up all 4 days to guarantee myself a position, never again, i really wish i hadnt. i do hillclimbs all the time but this was crap...

Are you doing Spa as one of the Croft marshals on tour, 24hrs GP or both.
Make sure your camera is fully charged and can take lots of photos, the place is stunning. Take some very strong tent pegs, you may be camping on gravel.
Goodwood. If you like celeb watching, one car at a time go for f.o.s.
If you like roundy, roundy racing, air displays and a good laugh on post, like me, go for the revival.
If you get to marshal at Bathhurst, let me know how!

I've done the 1000, very straightforward application process for experienced marshals and you'll be welcomed by the locals

PM if you're serious about going - too late for this year, but next year is ok

Yeah im hoping to go to Spa with the Croft Team, we have a plan for next year that we all say one circuit we want to marshal at and we try our best to go there as a group! Ive become a marshal tour rep, organising lifts etc!

I am tempted to go to Aus for my honeymoon and pursuade the other half that we need to go around the time bathurst is on

The best experience from going to an overseas track is to go in very small numbers, mix with the locals and try not to get stationed together - otherwise you run the risk of being 'The Brits' and left alone, not from malice, just human nature I think.

Wherever you go, you should factor in some overseas marshalling!

There is about 6 or 8 of us hoping to go to Spa, not huge numbers and also we dont mind being split, so we are hoping it will be a fantastic couple of weekends for all! We are all trying to go together to help on the cost of fuel!

Im liking this thread, its positive and lots of good advice being passed along

Yep i'll be at croft NewYankee

agreed that is the quintessential marshalling experience! i hope that other comment was meant in jest, id do that any day of the week! well i already do, id rather be at the karrusell at 2 in the morning than an eerie country road with no one else except me and a few hot rally cars to keep me company... not even farm animals!

The walll at Montreal, F1 at little more than arm's length.

If not lucky enough to get that post, just Montreal's f1 event - a town that enjoy's it's race.
Meanwhile, before I retire, a new circuit every year?
