Scooter185 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
F1 teams should be throwing money at this project

with simulator work ever increasing in importance, something like that integrated with a crash helmet could take the drivers sim experience even further than now.

I work in military flight simulation and we have both helmet mounted displays like this and also normal flight simulators, and the pilots prefer the normal sim 99 times out of 100. The problem with a setup like this is that you do not get to see the full controls in the car and where your hands are, and no amount of simulated vehicle extremities feel as real as physical items.

In racing magazines (I buy very few nowadays), do they list lap times of os sessions in simulators? The idea that this is how F1/motorsport has evolved is a little dispiriting.

That might be ok for visual realism, but F1 simulators are multipost systems that simulates the contours of the circuit layout, run wide and it bounces you around.

IceMan_PJN has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

That might be great for a backmarker team, but the top teams use technology that.curb-stomps VR helmets.

That toy helmet has absolutely nothing on what top F1 teams already utilize.

I tend to agree.

Simulator development has been astonishing.

The very top teams will have two, the one you see on the video which they also allow others, the press, junior drivers etc to enjoy, and the real one which is jealously guarded. The lack of a crash helmet in the video gives you the clue...

Ferrari signing Pedro de la Rosa with his experience of Maclaren technology gives another.
