Dunlop Production Championship taster offer

Britcar Endurance is bringing production car racing back with a new classification system, allowing closer races, and we are offering teams and drivers a special one-off first round taster of the Dunlop Production Championship on the Silverstone GP circuit on 27th March.

The package will consist of 20 minutes of warm up, followed by a 30 minute qualifying session, leading to two 50 minute races - all in a single day. With a compulsory pitstop, you can enter as a single driver or share the drive.

You will also benefit from TV coverage, 2 VIP hospitality passes and 8 entry tickets per car. All MINI Challenge, VAG Trophy, VW Cup, etc. production-based cars are eligible - GT cars are not.

To race would be £2000 plus VAT BUT for this event ONLY, Britcar Endurance are offering 150 minutes of track time for a mere £1500.00 plus VAT.

Please contact Claire Hedley on 01420 257194 for more details.....

Wow
How these entry fees are climbing through the roof quicker than spider man.

I thought Masters Racing was one of the highest entry fees.

£20 per minute raced ?

Bernies V8s are at Rockingham in July, you get 100 mins on track for £395.00, and yes it really is happening, it really grinds me up the wrong way when I see some of these entry fees, dont people realise how much it costs us drivers to just get the cars ready and transported to the event, so we dont need to be paying over the top to any circuit owner or club, remember without us drivers there is no racing.

Rant over, sorry guys.

And 2 hours plus qualifying with 750 for about £600 at each of Donington, Snetterton and Anglesey, I think. But, no doubt some will be sniffy about it being 750 (or indeed CSCC)!

Its a while since entry fee thread started again!!! What about the club that charges different entry fees depending on the perceived wealth of their members, also registration fees of up to £500 which are now in house, not to outside co-ordinators. You are talking about writing out a cheque for £1000 for you first meeting, justify that, might be something to do with losing money, perhaps there is something wrong with the product. Since I became a senior citizen I can get in to a meeting for a£10,non league football money! The old argument of racing behind closed doors to bring hire fee then entry fee charges down. How the hell have we finished up with hundreds of championships and meetings????

Perhaps it should be noted that it was the intention that the Britcar Dunlop Production Championship featured both TV coverage and professional catering - neither of which come cheap.

That may matter in BTCC or British GT but in a club series, really? And does it account for the big discrepancy in entry fees being mentioned?

From the latest on FB I think the importance of TV and catering is being reassessed. It will be interesting to see what the new price is in comparison with other series.

I can appreciated that everything costs, does everyone want tv? I know of a championship were a vote was taken, the costs were met by the yes voters,about£300 for 1 meeting each, buys a lot of beer and sandwiches. While i accept that since the improvement in motors tv the viewing figures are better than the 5 security guards at 4 in the morning, Its not BBC/sky/ITV4.
I saw an ad for an MSVR series yesterday,Open to closed wheel cars,1 hour track time,no admin. charges £275,by today standards a bargain.

You're quite right and the package for the Dunlop Production Championship has been re-assessed, including the removal of both TV coverage and catering. You'll have to contact Claire if you want prices.

We've got another offer for our next rounds which are at Thruxton on 2nd/3rd July.

On Saturday 2nd July 2016 we have 20 mins warm up, 30 mins Qualifying and 2 x 50 mins race for £885.00 plus VAT in the Dunlop GT & Production Championship.

On Sunday 3rd July all your cars are all eligible for the Dunlop Endurance Championship race which consists of 20 mins warm up, 30 mins qualifying and 1 x 120 mins race for £1455.00 plus VAT.

If you are thinking of doing both days we will reduce the combined entry by £200.00 plus VAT giving a total of £2140.00 plus VAT. You'll get 320 minutes of track time which comes out to a mere £ 6.68 per minute.

Note that for this event there is NO testing available.

Contact the Britcar office on 01420 257194.

£6.68 per minute still sounds quite a lot, but of course when you factor in the VAT its £8.02 per minute.........

Forthcoming CSCC races at Anglesey are £325 for 30 mins qualy and 40 minutes race - £4.64 per minute....and if you do the allcomer race as well, that is only £225 for 70 minutes (qualy+race), £3.21 per minute.

I just can't see where the disparity in pricing comes from.

I'm sharing a car in the 750MC's Enduro soon. 2 hours for £595, and I'm guessing 30 mins qually so it's 4 quid a minute or just under :-)
Granted I'd pay a bit more for Thruxton - but not double!

Endurance Championship is both fully catered and recorded for TV - so you're not entirely comparing like for like.

Given that, clearly we aren't comparing like for like - but as indicated in earlier posts above, for clubmen neither of those factors is likely to be worth much - I'd say no more than £50 or so.

Anyway, I hope you get the support you need and have some good racing

Perhaps I should rethink my stance on the EU - an endurance race in Riga being promoted as 6 hours for 650 Euro How much does it cost to get to Riga?

about £800 return for ferry & fuel for trailer + motorhome, affordable if split 2 or 3 ways

Chris, Thruxton is just a bit too soon for us but hoping to join the grid for Silverstone or Oulton.
Keep up the good work.

Excellent. Not sure when I'll be racing next but I'm at every round.
