The other way of looking at it is the judge ruled it was a public nuisance, and the press around this particular event had been enough to make their point. BBC stated the maximum fine is $96 (AUD) but it isn't clear if they'll be fined.

However, the point stands. They turned up in somebody elses country, acted like fools, got detained, made examples of, and then called a public nuisance. The right thing was done.

Again I agree 100%. Having been a Le Mans regular for more than three decades, there have been plenty of times that I've been disappointed in the behaviour of my fellow countrymen, some of whom think that the only reason to go is to be half cut (or worse) for the entire duration.....
