AMOC at Silverstone - 28th April

The AMOC are back racing at Silverstone this Saturday. There is Aston Martin parking by the paddock. It would be great to see you there.

Details of the timetable, race entries and paddock layout are available here: http://www.amocracing.org/cgi-bin/download.cgi

I'm looking forward to this especially as it looks as though there may be clear skies over Silverstone (we'll see...). Racing the Morgan in the 1950s race and Equipe GTS with decent size grids and nice kit in each race.

Mark - looks like we are in the same race so I'll come and say hello.

Can't offer chocolate cake, but we are in garage 1b (maroon DB2) if anyone is coming along.

Well, I'm an AMOC member of many years (first joined in late 60's, but never able to own one!) and contrary to popular belief, following the events of a couple of years ago aired on here, I really hope that this meeting and the Club prospers. With certain promising recent internal changes, it will be interesting to see how the competition side develops and it certainly looks brighter than the past couple of years. And Anne Reed has just become Deputy Chairperson, so congrats to Anne, who I hope will continue to post threads relating to AMOCs historic race meetings in here.

I look forward to reports and pics from this meeting!

I agree and it's good that AMOC seem to be 'back' as a race organising club. I wish Anne well - congratulations from me too.

There used to be a saying about owning Aston Martin cars.

'The definition of an optimist is someone who thinks they can afford to run an Aston Martin'

Suspect the more recent mass produced cars are more affordable than those that were built in Newport Pagnell.

Looks like a bit of a revival is on the cards for AMOC Racing in 2012. Best of luck.

My first AMOC meeting and a thoroughly enjoyable one at that in spite of the weather conditions. Sorry to miss the photo call - I needed to prepare for another race and was pleased to be allowed out of parc ferme !

Quite an eye opener ! I had a similar moment at the Birkett a few years ago in heavy rain but mine was just at the exit of woodcote ! I got luck my car just went backwards down the start finish straight and never hit anything!

Hope the damage is not to bad
