Amaroo Park should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

"It was dry for the second go-around. Grice, nervous, worrying about his Bathurst jinx, ran 2:25.9. The amazing Brock, using every last centimetre of bitumen, yet keeping the car straight and balanced and at full noise, came back with a staggering 2:20.0 as if to say: "Match that". And people just shook their heads, bit their lips and wondered who would be second".

The quote attributed to Harvey in the Great Race that year (something along the lines of "he should no better than to play silly buggers on green tyres") was a pearler

Also a pearler, with respect to all and sundry (Grice fans or not) was the pass Grice made on Harvey at McPhillamy to take the lead back. One helluva race between the two cars and teams.

Harvey then repassed Grice (Channel Seven missed it!), only to have Grice pass him again (Channel Seven also missed that!)

Advanced Driver Training run by Allan Grice & Colin Bond

20 years ago I was given an Advanced Driver Training Course. I went to Amaroo & Oran Parks to participate in the Course. The trainers were Allan Grice & Colin Bond. I remember AG doing the initial discussion before commencing the on track work. I also remember him commenting on how I handled my car & the skills necessary. I also remember the Nissan Bluebird Turbo's which we were running around in,

I tried to keep up with AG but he just blew all 8 of us into the weeds.

He then asked us to do a competitive lap (against the clock).

What a Blast!
