Yep. Thought it was quite good - obviously a bit of 'Hollywood' in it but the explanation of what caused the problem I thought was covered well (based on my very limited knowledge of the facts).

Correct, Mike, his nickname in France was The Boss. Very professional he used to found his spectacular and expensive shows with his own money.
I can't believe some of you heard about Françoise Hardy or Serge Gainsbourg or even Plastic Bertrand! I still remember Petula Clark singing in French with a so charming accent.

...and didn't he compete in Tour de France etc with a Mustang?

Driving back last night from three days in Essen, my car radio picked up Bleunord once I got past Antwerp & I noticed they were playing Johnny Hallyday stuff one after the other. Now I know why.

Christine Keeler's gone too.

Peter, on a light mode, back in the Seventies the best we had in endurance was the Matra team. Some success attracted many graduates wanting to join. Then they had to consider what experience brings to such a team when a graduate calculation showed that if it takes 30 sec to a mechanic to remove a bolt, it would take 15 sec to 2 mechanics. And so on. Common sense is valuable too.

I thought the problem was that the well wasn't covered well ....

Anyway, it was all down a Swiss company subcontractor avoiding US tax according to information at the time.

Ah memories! Ca Plein pour Moi was played endlessly in the Common Room when I was in the Sixth Form. I heard enough to last me a lifetime! I think it was the only single we had

When we were young we used to spend holidays in north Britany, not far from Saint Malo. My elder sister and her mates was trying to catch Radio Caroline said to be a pirate broadcasting. We had a sophisticated installation involving long wires on the roof completed by a… fork! So exotic and rebel. Couldn't catch a word of course but enjoyed the melodies. Could the most famous Jacques Dutronc be "Paris s'éveille"?

So, two mentions of Jacques Dutronc on a Historic Racing forum. Who’d have thought!

The rise (and fall) of Pirate Radio stations were amazing times.....

Francoise Hardy was, of course, one of the cast of 'Grand Prix'; and I believe I have heard on the wireless lately a song by a popular beat combo from Manchester that sounds not unlike a tribute to 'Ca plein pour moi'
